Wine Tasting

Wes and I went wine tasting in Napa yesterday. It was a very unexpected trip. One of Wes's friends stopped by Friday night and asked us if we would like to go. After a little contemplation, we decided we would. It was just a day trip...we left at 7:30am and were home at 5:30pm, but we had a wonderful time. We went to two wineries. One was very packed because it was their annual release party where they released their 2004 wine. The other one was very quiet and secluded, with a wonderful view of the Napa Valley. It made me realize how lucky we are to be so close to so many beautiful sites in California. We are two to three hours from the beach, the snow, and the wineries. Where else can you find all of this in your backyard?

I'm glad Wes is not one who has to have everything planned. He is so spontaneous and loves to do things spur of the moment. Sometimes this is hard for me since I am such a planner, but I figure if he wants to go, I'll go. I might as well take advantage of it, right?
