Cole and his girlfriend Ashley just left for dinner at Outback Steakhouse in Chico and then they're going to the Winter Ball. He's so handsome!! So many people tell me he looks just like his daddy! Maybe I'm a little prejudice!! Here are some pictures of their big night.

Scary Times in California

As many of you know, things here in California are not so great economically. This is my sixth year teaching, and it is VERY possible (almost DEFINITELY possible) that I will receive a "pink slip" due to teacher cuts. They are looking at cutting 13 positions in our district (which consists of four schools), which puts me right there amongs the cuts. The only thing that MIGHT save me is that I have a multiple subject credential, as well as an authorization to teach English up to 9th grade.

So, needless to say, things are a little stressful. I'm trying not to stress too much since there's nothing I can do but think about the "what-ifs", and THAT is enough to drive someone crazy! I'm not sure exactly when I will know for sure, so for now I'm just trying to pretend that it's not an issue...but of course I can't get it COMPLETELY out of my mind.

KEITH URBAN!!!

So anybody who REALLY knows me knows how obsessed I am with Keith Urban. And, luckily, I have a husband who encourages my obsession. I have been to four concerts...one third row (thanks to my husband) and two front row (thanks to the fan club). Anyway, Keith is touring again this year and the list of cities was just released, although the dates of the shows haven't been released yet. Unfortunately, Keith will not be coming to Northern California. SO...this means a KURT (Keith Urban Road Trip). HOPEFULLY we will be going to either Portland, Seattle, Spokane, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Huntsville, or (my favorite)...NASHVILLE!!! Actually, it would be nice to be able to go to many of them, but I won't be greedy. I'll settle for just one. I already told Wes that we need to plan a trip. I'll just have to wait and see what the dates are. I don't want silly things like work and money getting in the way of my Keith Urban fix!! I think I need to get a second job so I can afford my fix!!

Happy Anniversary to Us

Yesterday was our 17th anniversary. It's hard to believe that we've been married 17 years!! WOW! I wouldn't change a thing...except maybe new wedding pictures with my updated hairstyle. What was I thinking? Anyway...Wes and I went to dinner last night and discussed our plans for our 20th. We have three years to plan, but I'm sure the time will fly. We talked about Australia, a cruise, an all-inclusive resort in Mexico, or Hawaii (probably Maui). Maui won...at least for now. The kicker is trying to save money. In this day and age it's hard to save at all, let alone save for something that is three years away. We'll see what happens.

I had the best two weeks off ever! It was so nice going to bed late, sleeping in, hanging out with Wes and the boys, and not stressing about work! Now it's back to the grind.
